New Wreck Diving Package in Puglia




Day One: Arrive at Bari International Airport, transfer to Bed and Breakfast at Monopoli.
(Flights are generally evening flights)

Day Two: Travel to Ionian Sea for two boat dives.
Dive #1: Luftwaffe Junkers 88A-4 bomber. This particular aircraft was built in November
1941 and has not yet been firmly identified. Possibly aircraft B3+FR of 8./KG54,
piloted by Leutnant Helmut Kissel. Hit by enemy fighter aircraft on 11 July 1943
while attacking the Allied beachhead in Sicily. Ditched in the sea attempting to
return to Grottaglie airfield near Taranto.
Maximum depth: 36 metres

Dive#2: HMT Neuralia. 9,182GRT British troopship sunk by mine while travelling from Split
to Taranto to collect German prisoners of war on 1 May 1945, two men killed aboard
the ship.

Day Three: Two Adriatic Sea boat dives
Dive #1 & 2: The wreck of Turkish cargo ship MV Gulten Islamoglu that foundered off Torre Canes,
Monopoli, on 24 July 1994 while travelling from Koper, Slovenia, to Sousse, Tunisia, with a
cargo of iron. No casualties were suffered.
Maximum depth: 36 metres

Lunch at our favourite bar near the dive centre in Monopoli before travelling to visit the centre of
nearby Alberobello, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

Day Four: Transfer to Bari airport for return flight.

Four wreck dives; two lunches; all transfers to and from the airport, dive sites and B&B; scuba equipment
rental; three nights B&B accommodation; PADI Wreck Diver Speciality (plus full information sheets on all
wrecks). Price: €440 per person.

What is included for accompanying non-divers? Space on all boat rides, two lunches, all transfers as above,
three nights B&B accommodation. Price: €299 per person.
